Commitment to Change You are able to anticipate the changes in relation to your life and to your career over the next 3-5 years. That can happen if you change the patterns of your behavior? You will get the results you want and you will be happy with the results you get once you recognize the original events you have associated with pain in relation to your present patterns of behavior. You can create the incentives you need by changing the power your pain has over you. You can change the pain to pleasure by defined action. It is your commitment to change that will make this happen. It is your commitment to examine all areas of your life. By examining all areas of your life you can recognize the things that are getting in the way of your taking defined actions and moving forward. You can recognize the beliefs you have that need to be changed. Then you can empower any defined action you take to get positive results. You do this by recognizing your fears and your past negative fear results. Once you implement the changes, you will be reconditioning yourself for your ultimate goals of health, happiness and security. If you do this within all the seven areas of your life (emotional life, financial life, intellectual life, physical life, personal life, professional and spiritual life) you will recognize the problem areas. You will be aware of the things that you have been trying to avoid. You will see how this avoidance has kept you from moving toward your desired success. Once these fears are acknowledged you can disempower the feelings that create that give you pain. You can then seperate yourself from the connections to past negative events that are secretly keeping you down. Remember, it is the awareness of your use of “but” and “we” thoughts and excuses that are your personal guide to finding the things in your life that must be changed. And, also remember, what you choose to believe about anything should have one major criteria. It should be a belief that will make living your life and pursuing your dreams easier. True Career Desires Make sure that acting is the career you want. The only way to do this is by working as an actor. If you don’t have the opportunities or competition skills to get a role in one of the major markets (NYC or LA), then use your imagination. Perhaps you can find a relative or friend who lives in a small or midsized town that has two or more active community theatres. Find out what their upcoming season of plays will be. Get their season dates for auditions and show runs. Select the play or plays that have lead characters you feel are right for you to play. If you don’t know the plays, get them and read them. Ask knowledgeable friends. Then, go to that town and audition for the roles. Prove to yourself that you can be cast. When you get an acting role of substance, stay there with your friend or family member, find a part time job, and complete this mission. Feel the power of being cast and then the power of acting for your spirit! No career will be successful for you unless it is tied to your passion. Acting is a calling. Acting is also a gift so make sure you have the strength to respond to the call. Only if it is truly your passion will you be able to endure the hardships of the journey. The actors who make it in this business are the ones who develop a reason for doing so. These actors have placed a meaning on the hardships that give them a feeling of pleasure even during times of apparent rejection and disappointment. Successful actors maintain an energy frequency of action consistantly. Also, if you think that you’re giving up too much to pursue your acting career, then you are. If you believe that the other areas of your life are more powerful than your professional self, then your potential success is deeply compromised. These types of thoughts should indicate to you the energy frequency you are transmitting to the industry. You must challenge these thoughts that come from the other areas of your life if they are counter to your achieving a successful acting career. If you believe acting is your calling but you are not working in the business try changing the beliefs you perhaps have attached to the fear of rejection. Do this by attaching those usless beliefs to beliefs of achievement and perseverance. You can change these usless beliefs by recognizing them. Once this is done you can take action using an awareness of your life energy frequencies. Make your career happen by using energy frequencies of positive attraction. You can change what you believe about agents and the fact that you don’t have one so it reflects a frequency of agent attraction. You can change the beliefs you have about auditions so it reflects a frequency of attraction. You can change your negative associations about taking acting classes from a negative frequency level to a positive frequency level. You can change your beliefs about money as the reason for LACK. You can change your belief that money problems can be solved with money. You can change your life energy vibrations. The Relationship Compromise You need the other areas of your life to be supportive collectively of your professional growth. You cannot do this if you are dedicating your life to another person’s dreams and aspirations. A successful professional acting career cannot be a part time effort. If you are putting your career on the slow path for the sake of the “money maker” in a relationship you might want to re-evaluate your position. This strategy could prove to be blind trust and a painful reckoning once the recipient of your support has finished using you. If this has happened to you, don’t blame the recipient of your effort. It was/is a your choice you were/are making to divert your energy and effort. It is always your choice not to be aware of the energy that you transmit. You may have your reasons but (behold underlying truth) it is often used as a wonderful victim excuse. Analyze your relationship circumstances wisely and make sure your relationships are not created to give you excuses to maintain an energy frequency that keeps you from pursuing your career with the dedication and zeal that is required. By the same token, make sure you are not in taking advantage of someone’s love for you only to drop them once you may think your ship is coming in. You don’t want that karma coming along with your career growth. Knowing What You Want If you don’t clarify what you want out of this career then it is pretty difficult to recognize the things that get in your way. You can not set the frequency of your energy if you are unclear of how it will feel to achieve your goals. Understanding you life energy frequency is important. It is the vibrations of your energy that set the frequency of you life transmissions. I will discuss this in more detail later but for now just be aware that it is your life transmission that you must hand over to the character inside of you when you go to make believe. Each thought from every area of your life indicates the frequency of the life energy transmission you are using. You can only control these thoughts through desire, dedication, determination and discipline. The power of the Four D’s is paramount to your success. The understanding and use of the four D's are the paths to your awareness and accountability. You want to acknowledge the things you desire from a successful professional acting career. Perhaps: You want recognition of your talent and abilities. You want respect and admiration from family, friends, peers and fans. You want financial security and all the rewards and material possessions that come with it. You want the satisfaction that comes from a job well done. These are the rewards of people in other careers who have achieved success. No matter what field you pursue, once you have been elevated to the top, you receive all of the wants you have listed. Secret Anger You might secretly resent this business for not returning your affection. You could unknowingly be angry with the business. This could be the case if you find that you are constantly negating others efforts. You may find criticism with the efforts that others are making. If you want this career to return your sense of believed affection then you must be more open with your affection to others working toward it. You must temper your degree of dissatisfaction to others efforts. You can make this career open its doors to you. This is a business with rules and secret passwords. Use the right life energy frequency for ambition and action and it can be yours. Appreciation and genuine excitement for the efforts of others seeking success in this business will set a frequency of your life energy that is far more powerful that you might imagine. This business is not controlled by supernatural forces of good and evil. This business does not have the power to include or exclude anyone. It works, however, with the laws of nature. As we have discussed, this profession, like most everything, is controlled by the laws of attraction. It gives what it gets. With enough knowledge and effort any business, governed by science, can be penetrated. You know that this is a business that requires personal contact for advancement. Let’s say you decide to get new headshots and do a new mailing. You decide to send out to everyone listed in The Ross Report or other industry information service. You send out 100 pictures and resumes. Your chances of a response are slim, at best. Mass mailings are seldom effective. Every piece of mail will arrive looking like a piece of mass mail. In mosst cases it will be discarded. It is not personal nor does it make the person receiving it feel particularly special. You want be looked at as an individual in the business and so do your buyers. You must imagine yourself in the situations you expect to find yourself. You want be able to literally feel the actual connection with the people you pursue. You want to literally feel yourself shaking their hands as you are seated in front of their desk. You want to literally feel the joy of signing a contract. You want to literally feel the pleasure of their being at your opening night. To do this you must select your buyers based on the compatibility of your product to their needs. The successes of your efforts are in relation to your understanding of the needs of the business and your ability to accomadate those needs. Have a wonderful week. Let yourself feel and be special.
